Kintsugi Tray

A different kind of kintsugi repair for us.  After creating the original version of this tray, we brought it in and lived with it for a few weeks.  During that time it never really spoke to us, it needed a voice.  We took it back out to the shop to work on it and in doing so broke off a big section of the rim...opportunity arose.  Having seen antique pieces from rural Japan repaired in this way we fashioned a new rim section from copper and fastened it with copper tacks.  The repair gives a feeling of time, as if you could almost imagine it's past uses.

• Each one is made by our hands and will therefore express individual character.
• Approximately 9" in diameter

Care:

• Copper will tarnish over time. 
• Hand wash only.  Wash immediately after use.
