Flamed Copper Bowl
Looking for the depth some of a favorite ceramists can achieve in clay, we worked this copper sheet hot on a rough swage block. The texture from the pitted hammer head and swage block transferred to the copper and combined with the deep reds, blacks and copper color from the torch created the depth we were after. This bowl has the look and feel of one much older, possibly an artifact from another time and place.
