Kintsugi Dry Vase #2

A neighbor brought us sections of an obnormally large Smoke Tree or Smoke Bush some time ago.  We knew the beautiful tree's foliage but didn't know anything about the tree as it relates to wood working.  We were very surprised when the chips coming from the chain saw were a bright golden yellow.  What a spectacular wood!  When worked it smells like freshly toasted black pepper.  We have been looking for more vertical presence in our work, so we combined our love of dried flowers with this rare wood.

• Oiled with pure tung oil
